HP launches Pavillion 2, claims 60% power savings
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched a power-efficient desktop called HP Pavilion P2, which is capable of cutting desktop-related energy costs by up to 60% according to the company.
This desktop works on a 90W power adaptor as against conventional desktops that work on 250W power supply units. This reduces power consumption by 60-70% under normal usage conditions and results in savings of almost Rs 6000, claims the company.
This product is available in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 23,500. HP Pavilion P2 desktop comes in two versions - one with an Intel Pentium 630T Processor and the other with an Intel Core i3 2120T Processor. It has an in-built Vision Technology that gives super-sharp photos and smooth and HD video playback. The new desktop has an 18.5-inch LED monitor with in-built speakers and comes with a one-year onsite warranty.
Talking about the new desktop, Vinay Awasthi, senior director, products & marketing, PPS, HP India, stated, "HP's newly launched Pavilion P2 desktop consumes such low power that even a regular UPS can support this product with up to one hour of back-up, for the uninterrupted computing experience." He continued, "This energy efficient product therefore helps us achieve our broader goal of protecting the environment while remaining true to designing products that suit and benefit the consumers' preference in every way possible."ShareThis
