Nispana gears up for 4th edition of Smart Cities India conference 2018 from 6-7 September in Bangalore.

Indian government launched the flagship of “100 Smart Cities Mission” in 2015, but any particular model was not prescribed. Each city has to formulate its own concept, plan, vision and mission ensuring the entail development of basic infrastructure. Post this flagship Indian cities are growing at an unprecedented pace. The progress towards accomplishing the objective of 100 smart cities by 2020 has unmistakably turned out to be sluggish owing to inaction, a deficiency of skill building and technical training, and above all else the nonexistent security structure. It is now a challenge to keep infrastructure intact and cater to the millions that now consider these cities their home. Against this backdrop, INR.48,000 crore and INR 50,000 crore earmarked for Smart Cities Mission and AMRUT respectively are essential steps taken by the Government to develop urban infrastructure.

Mobilization of funds & Smart cities financing has become a challenge for urban local bodies, hence it is vital for Central and State Government, Investors, urban local bodies, technology players, private companies and stakeholders to collaborate towards the success of Smart Cities Project.

There is a need for creating & building urban cityscape and framework applying global best practices while looking at the local realities and the challenges addressed with a holistic approach. The cities selected under the Smart city initiative are looking to promote themselves as investment & manufacturing hubs to increase the local job opportunities.

Understanding these complexities, Nispana is working on the 4th Annual Sustainable Smart Cities conference. While this summit will mainly focus on the overarching picture and the construct of cities, it will also provide a platform for knowledge dissemination, bring the respective leadership from other cities to share best practices and collaborate with technology & service providers to prospect business opportunities.
