Govt will ask all vehicle makers to produce flex-fuel engines: Gadkari

Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday said that the government will ask all vehicle manufacturers to make flex-fuel engines under the Euro VI emission norms in the next six-eight months. Flex-fuel, or flexible fuel, is an alternative fuel made of a combination of gasoline and methanol or ethanol.

Addressing an event, Gadkari further said in the next 15 years, Indian automobile industry will be worth Rs 15 lakh crore. REC Limited closes US$75million SOFR linked Term Loan with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)

In a first for any NBFC in India, REC Limited has successfully raised a USD 75 million, 5-year Secured Overnight Financing Rate ("SOFR") linked Syndicated Term Loan on October 7, 2021, with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Singapore Branch appointed as the sole Mandated Lead Arranger and Bookrunner. Along with the loan, REC has also entered into interest rate swap referencing SOFR to hedge the interest rate risk on this facility, which is the first such deal by any Corporate in India.

Sun Mobility’s Chetan Maini: “As part of Sun Mobility’s long-term strategy to build affordable EV technologies in India, we will be deploying the funds into capacity expansion.”

Government revisits proposal of 2014 panel on new umbrella green law

NTPC Renewable invites EoI for 15,000 MW module supply

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL), the renewable energy arm of state-run power producer NTPC, has invited expression of interest (EoI) from domestic module manufacturers to procure 15,000 mega-watt (MW) of solar panels for its projects over the next five years. Climate financing area of worry, says Finance Minister Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that climate financing continues to be an area of worry as she flagged India's concerns over funding mechanism and technology transfer.

BluSmart drives a green agenda, hopes to expand presence from core NCR base

If Ola and Uber changed the way we hailed taxis, Gurugram-based BluSmart wants to make ride-hailing a green option.

The company, which recently raised $25 million from a clutch of investors led by bp Ventures and which included Mayfield India Fund, 9Unicorns and Survam Partners, is India's first integrated EV ride-hailing and charging company. Power Global to invest $25 mn to set up battery infrastructure facility in India

US-based clean energy and mobility products start-up Power Global plans to invest around USD 25 million (around Rs 185 crore) to set up a lithium-ion battery manufacturing unit and battery swapping infrastructure in India over the next two to three years, according to a top company official.

Suzuki, Denso and Toshiba's lithium-ion JV unit to go on stream by year-end

Suzuki Motor Corp, Denso Corp and Toshiba are set to start commercial production of the lithium-ion cell at their joint venture (JV) unit by December, said a person aware of the company's plans. The development brings Suzuki's India subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki closer to the plans of introducing new technology vehicles, including hybrid and battery electric vehicles by 2025.

Notification of Mass Emission Standards for E12 AND E15 fuels

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vide GSR 728 (E) dated 11th October 2021 has notified mass emission standards for E 12 (12% Ethanol with Gasoline) and E15 (15% Ethanol 12 with gasoline) fuels. This will enable the Automotive Industry to manufacture E 12 and E 15 compliant motor vehicles.

Bhopal buses to run on bio-CNG made out of waste

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for setting up a 200 tonnes per day wet waste to bio-CNG plant and a 400 tonnes per day dry waste torrefied charcoal plant.

The bio-CNG generated from the plant will be used in city buses.

The MoU was signed between the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), NTPC and Bhopal RNG Private Limited in the presence of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
